If you want to know about the inner workings of the entertainment industry as it relates to the music business then the Wu-tang: An American Saga on Hulu is a must see!
Now that we are “Outchea” I got a chance to watch the show with other killer bees at Hamilton Hill in Harlem right in Sugar Hill ( near145th Street) The night began with an open bar sponsored by Bartenura Presecco Rose. With all good drinks you have to have a good meal so I ordered the green salad with salmon and let me tell you it was good to the last bite!
After the episode was done everyone applauded actor, rapper and entrepreneur, Dave East for a job well done. In the series he plays Method Man. It was fun to watch him because you almost forgot that he is his own character/rapper; David East. Shout out to Johnny Nunez he was in the building snapping away along with all the other guests in the packed house.
Respect due and a huge thank you to Rosa, Jade and Ms. Penny aka my plug! The event was flawless with a hip hop crowd that was everything! It felt like I was in a time warp. Man the memories! Watching that show put me down memory lane. As an A&R at Atlantic Records and Gee Street I had front row seats to all the wheeling and dealing to sign the Wu-Tang Clan. I even have the cassette signed by Sophia Chang to prove it was the real demo because there were so many people claiming to be a rep for the group. I will never forget when Mook came to the office. Before we even pressed play he said; “If you don’t have a budget of at least $300K we don’t need to have this meeting.” Yes they had next and what was great about the series is that they showed that Wu-Tang Clan was and for the record still is… nothing to f*#k with!
Wu-tang: An American Saga is produced by Rza Productions, Minute Drill Productions, Imagine Television and 20th Television. The executive producers; Brian Glazer, Francie Calfo, Method Man, Rza and Alex Tse who also co-created the series with Rza.
Now in its second season it confirms one fact we all know… Wu-Tang Clan Forever. You can watch it on Hulu whenever you want and wherever you want because the episodes are VOD.
